1、 Design Objective
Landscape integration: The vase shape is coordinated with the surrounding garden styles (Chinese, European, modern and natural).
Structural safety: wind resistance, load-bearing capacity, good drainage, durability and weather resistance.
Plant expression: Through three-dimensional greening or planting in various styles, achieve "flowers in the bottle, flowers lining the bottle shape".
Low cost maintenance: convenient for irrigation, pruning, and soil replacement.
2、 Styling and Dimensional Design
Basic form (optional or combined)
Classic double ear vase (imitation blue and white porcelain, pottery jar)
Waist waist high neck bottle (European classical)
Abstract streamlined bottle (modern style)
Recommended Scale (Taking Park Nodes as an Example)
Total height: 1.8m to 2.5m (excluding underground foundation)
Maximum diameter of bottle belly: 1.0m~1.5m
Bottle mouth diameter: 0.6m to 0.8m
Bottom diameter of bottle: 0.8m~1.2m
Proportional control:
Bottle mouth diameter ≈ 0.6 times the maximum diameter of the bottle body
Bottom diameter ≈ 0.8 times the maximum diameter of the bottle body
Bottleneck height ≈ 1/4 to 1/3 of the bottle body height
3、 Structural Construction Design (Layered Description)
1. Underground foundation
Type: Cast in place C25 reinforced concrete independent foundation
Size: The side length is 300mm wider than the bottom of the bottle, and the thickness is 250mm
Pre embedded anchor bolts or vertical steel bars (connecting the upper skeleton)
Construct a 100mm thick C15 plain concrete cushion layer on the base
2. Main structure (three options to choose from)
Plan A: Brick solid body (suitable for small and medium-sized, low cost)
Material: MU10 sintered brick, M7.5 cement mortar
Wall thickness: 120mm (small bottle) or 240mm (large bottle)
Layered masonry is required and plant planting holes (side holes) should be reserved
After surface plastering and leveling, apply a decorative finish
Plan B: Reinforced concrete thin shell (suitable for irregular and tall shapes)
Wall thickness: 50mm~80mm (double-layer reinforcement)
Concrete strength C25, with built-in double-sided steel mesh with a diameter of 6 @ 150
Single pouring molding or segmented prefabrication and assembly
Option C: Steel structure skeleton+weather resistant steel mesh (suitable for lightweight modern style)
Main skeleton: Galvanized square tube (40 × 60 × 3mm)
Outsourcing: 3mm thick weather resistant steel plate or stainless steel plate
Internal filling: lightweight planting soil or hanging planting troughs
3. Planting system
Top bottle mouth planting area: planting hanging plants (ivy, dwarf morning glory, beautiful cherry blossom)
Lateral planting holes on the bottle body (optional): leave circular holes with a diameter of 120-150mm and a spacing of 300mm, lined with non-woven fabric to prevent soil loss
Internal medium: lightweight nutrient soil (peat: perlite: humus soil=4:3:3)
Drainage structure:
Bottom of the bottle is equipped with a drainage pipe (DN50, leading to the outside of the foundation)
Lay a 100mm ceramic drainage layer at the bottom of the planting area
4. Finish and color
Imitation ceramic: white/blue real stone paint+hand-painted blue and white patterns (weather resistant type)
Imitation copper rust: Copper green weather resistant coating or antique copper foil
Natural stone pattern: GRC (glass fiber reinforced cement) prefabricated board, imitating granite texture
Wooden style: Carbonized wood or laminated wood (anti-corrosion required)
4、 Plant configuration plan (based on the principles of long viewing period and strong resistance)
Recommended location, plant examples, color effects
The main scenery of the bottle mouth is triangular plum, dragon boat flower, geranium, and red, purple, and orange
The side holes of the bottle are adorned with Buddha's armor grass, hanging bamboo plum, winding stones, and green borders of flowering leaves and Changchun vines, hanging naturally
The base of the bottle is decorated with Ophiopogon japonicus, iris, jade hairpin, and alum root, providing shade and cooling
Seasonal replanting in spring: tricolor violet; Summer: Sunflowers; Autumn: Chrysanthemums; Winter: Kale highlights seasonal dynamics
5、 Construction steps (simplified process)
1. Setting out and positioning → excavating foundation → pouring cushion layer and independent foundation
2. Pre embedded connecting steel bars → Binding main steel bars (or bricklaying) → Supporting formwork and pouring concrete (or masonry walls)
3. Reserve drainage pipes and planting holes → maintain for 7 days
4. Plastering and leveling → applying waterproof layer (two coats of polymer cement coating)
5. Decoration construction (real stone paint/GRC/steel plate)
6. Laying drainage layer → Filling planting soil → Planting plants
7. Install drip irrigation pipes (optional: arrange a circular drip irrigation belt along the bottle mouth)
6、 Key points of maintenance management
Daily (once a month)
Check if the drainage hole is blocked
Trim excessively long hanging branches to prevent covering the lines of the bottle body
Drip irrigation system trial operation
Seasons (every 3 months)
Supplement slow-release compound fertilizer (20g per plant)
Check if the finish is cracked or faded (apply transparent protective agent)
Clean up the dead leaves and weeds inside the bottle

Replace 1/3 of the surface planting soil
Check the corrosion of steel structures or steel bars (apply anti rust paint)
Replace theme flowers based on plant growth status
7、 Cost control and optimization suggestions
It is recommended to purchase finished GRC vases directly for small vases (below 1.2m in height), with a unit price of approximately 800-2000 yuan per piece.
Large customized bottles (over 2 meters high) are made of brick masonry and real stone paint, with a comprehensive cost of about 3500-6000 yuan per bottle (including plants).
Reduce maintenance: Use drip irrigation and drought resistant plants (such as Sedum and Sedum) exclusively.
When making in bulk, it is recommended to prefabricate the reinforced concrete bottle body in separate molds and assemble it on site.
